Q. What is an In-ground Electric Dog Fence?

A. An In-ground Electric Dog Fences has three important components at work; the transmitter, the wires, and a collar receiver. The transmitter plugs into a standard outlet and sends out a radio signal to the wires that are buried. The wires make up the invisible fence that defines the boundary zone. The collar receiver is worn around the dog’s neck and picks up on the radio signal from the wires. The receiver will alert the dog when near the wires or attempting to go beyond the containment area.

Q. Can I contain more than one dog using one of these systems?

A. Absolutely! Additional collar receivers and transmitters can be purchased for containing multiple dogs, whether you wish to contain them together or separately.

Q. Is there another way that I can contain my dog without burying wires?

A. Yes! If you want all the features that our In-ground dog fences have, but you do not want or are not able to, there is an answer. With the purchase of Securing Staples, you can install any in-ground system safely above ground instead. Q. I have a very stubborn and large dog. Will this system still work?

A. The electric dog fences that we offer have been designed for medium and small sized dogs that can be easily trained. If you have a dog that is large and stubborn, then this system may not be the most effective answer to dog containment that you are looking for.

Q. Are Indoor Dog Fences only for indoor use?

A. Indoor Dog Fences are designed to be used indoors, but they can be used outdoors as well. However, the indoor systems will not be as effective as an outdoor device would be. Please be sure to check the range of the system you are considering before purchasing.
